A-Team Spotlight: Bob Lacy
ADB prides itself on being a career destination, whether a team member has been a part of the family for one year or 20 years. Bob Lacy, Supervisor for one of our most trusted partners and the most tenured team member at ADB, has grown his career at ADB. He has helped us build this customer relationship into a lifelong, mutually beneficial partnership.
Bob joined the ADB family in November of 1997 after 20 years at another construction company. He started off as a Crew Leader and quickly began to work his way up, holding a variety of positions from a craftsperson to a Project Manager. He has loved his role as Supervisor and being able to build and guide an incredible group of A-Team members. In every position he has held, Bob has felt empowered to take his job into his own hands and exceed expectations for our partner with full support from leadership. He has been able to grow and improve processes along the way, paving a path for success.
“This job has been a lifelong goal and I am constantly challenged to be the best that I can be.”
Bob grew up on a farm in Southern Missouri and was working at a local grocery store when he got a job offer in the construction industry. He jumped at the opportunity to experience something new and has never looked back. It is because of this leap of faith that Bob has been able to travel the world. He has drilled and worked on projects across the U.S., Mexico, Canada, and South America. Being immersed into these cultures has given him the unique opportunity to learn the industry from new perspectives, bringing lessons and new methods back home with him. This industry has constantly kept Bob on his toes and his favorite thing about the industry is that he is constantly challenged to grow and learn something new every day. He is grateful for ADB’s safety culture as it gives him and his team the resources they need to keep each other safe. If Bob could give one piece of advice to those just starting out in the industry, it would be:
“This industry is booming right now and in constant need of hardworking individuals looking to make a difference. If you are willing to put in the hard work, you will be able to make a great career and provide for your family for a long time.”
As Bob celebrates his 25 years at ADB, he is looking towards the future. While he is excited for retirement, it is bittersweet as he has built his career and so many relationships at ADB. It has been an amazing ride and he could not be more grateful for everything he has experienced along the way. There were bad days, but there were so many great days that allowed him to have the career he has always dreamed of. ADB is Bob’s career destination, and he wants others to feel the same way.
“At ADB, the hard work you put in will be rewarded. It truly is a family here. Always look at the big picture and you will be able to advance your career in ways you never thought possible. I am grateful and proud to be a member of the A-Team.”
Bob, thank you for 25 years of passion, dedication, growth, and living out the ADB culture. You have built an incredible team here and we are forever grateful for you. Your accomplishments are something to be very proud of!
